Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Makro app, website, and related services. By creating an account or using Makro, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction. If you use Makro for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

Makro provides general nutrition logging, educational information, estimates, progress summaries, and practical coaching tools. Makro is not a medical device or healthcare provider and does not diagnose, prevent, treat, or cure any condition. Makro does not replace a physician, registered dietitian, mental-health professional, or emergency service.

Seek qualified professional guidance before changing diet or activity because of a medical condition, medication, pregnancy, allergy, eating disorder, or individualized health need. If you may be experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Food databases, labels, barcodes, user entries, formulas, and AI can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Portion size and preparation can materially change nutrition values. You are responsible for checking servings, ingredients, allergens, labels, goals, and outputs before relying on or saving them. Progress associations do not prove that Makro or a particular diet caused an outcome.

Keep your sign-in method secure, provide accurate information, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You retain ownership of meal text, photos, questions, and other content you submit. You grant Makro a limited, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use.

AI features are optional and may generate inaccurate or incomplete output. Makro may limit questions, images, requests, or feature availability to protect the service and manage cost. Do not use AI output as medical advice, an emergency response, or the sole basis for a health decision. You remain responsible for reviewing and correcting any estimate before saving or using it.

You may not:

• break the law or violate another person’s rights;
• interfere with, probe, bypass, or disrupt Makro’s security, limits, or infrastructure;
• use automation to make abusive or excessive requests;
• upload malware, unlawful content, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
• misrepresent Makro output as professional medical advice; or
• reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Makro relies on third-party authentication, hosting, food-data, analytics, diagnostics, and AI services. Their availability and source data can change without notice, and their own terms may apply to services you access directly. Makro is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside its control.

If Makro offers a paid plan, the price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, trial terms, and cancellation method will be shown before purchase. Purchases made through an app store are also governed by that store’s payment and refund rules. Taxes may apply. Nothing in this section limits non-waivable consumer rights.

Makro and its licensors own the app, website, branding, design, software, and service content, excluding content you submit and third-party data. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Makro. If you provide feedback, you permit Makro to use it without restriction or compensation.

Features may be added, changed, limited, or discontinued. You may stop using Makro or delete your account at any time. Makro may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment, or harm to users or the service. Where practical and appropriate, Makro will provide notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Makro is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Makro and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the service. Makro does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Applicable law governs these Terms without overriding mandatory consumer protections in your home jurisdiction. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without Makro’s consent; Makro may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service.
